Winter is Black Sapote season in Florida! The fruit also known as “Chocolate Pudding Fruit” can be a bit underwhelming if you expect a rich chocolatey flavor from the fresh fruit– its flavor is sweet and creamy, but mild, almost like an avocado. However, with a couple of simple ingredients you can make Black Sapote into a decadent chocolate pudding or mousse that truly lives up to its name!
Our Super Simple Super Delicious Black Sapote Chocolate Pudding Recipe

1 ripe Black Sapote, flesh scooped into a bowl

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 teaspoon cacao powder

2-3 oz heavy whipping cream
Put all the ingredients together and mix with a whisk, or in a food processor.
Ingredients can be adjusted to taste.
Garnish with a sprig of mint and enjoy!
